The 2024 Domaine Arnaud et Sophie Sirugue-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée "Les Barreaux" is an exquisite, highly expressive 100% Pinot Noir from a exceptional parcel situated just above the prestigious Cros Parantoux. Crafted by Arnaud and Sophie Sirugue, this stellar release captures incredible aromatic energy and signature Burgundian elegance. Captivating aromas of fresh red cherries, wild raspberries, violet florals, and exotic Asian spices lead into a medium-bodied, remarkably precise palate framed by silky fine-grained tannins, vibrant tension, and a long, seamless finish.

Terroir, History & Acclaim

Critical Recognition:
Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy) 91–94 pts
  • 91–94 Points - Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): Next to Petits Monts and Cros Parantoux. Well drained stony east facing soil, around 70-year-old vines. Crimson purple in colour. The most attractive bouquet by some way, with elegance to the nose, perfumed floral aspects, 50+% whole bunch yet much more harmonious, riper stems perhaps. Alpine strawberry with cherry. A touch of white pepper behind, the best integrated of the whole bunch cuvées. Excellent finish. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Nov 2025 by Jasper Morris MW.
  • The "Les Barreaux" Terroir: Located in the upper reaches of Vosne-Romanée directly above the legendary 1er Cru *Cros Parantoux*. Because of its elevated position and shallow, limestone-rich soils, Les Barreaux consistently yields a wine of extraordinary aromatic intensity, cool freshness, and structural depth that often rivals premier crus.
  • Domaine Craftsmanship: Managed by Arnaud Sirugue and Sophie Noëllat (carrying forward generations of deep Vosne-Romanée heritage tied to the Jayer and Sirugue families), the estate applies meticulous, low-intervention techniques to capture pure fruit transparency, silky texture, and refined complexity.

Highlights

  • 100% Pinot Noir from the celebrated "Les Barreaux" lieu-dit in Vosne-Romanée.
  • Awarded a brilliant **91–94 points** by Jasper Morris (*Inside Burgundy*).
  • A gorgeous 2024 expression offering red fruits, violets, and oriental spices; built to evolve gracefully over the next 10 to 15 years.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Bright, translucent ruby-red with delicate crimson hues.
  • Nose: Intensely fragrant and complex. It opens with pure red cherry and wild raspberry aromas intermixed with fresh violet florals, crushed stone, and lingering notes of exotic Asian spices.
  • Palate: Dry, medium-bodied, and beautifully lifted. The entry delivers a harmonious core of red fruit sap and subtle lingering spice, supported by silky, fine-grained tannins and vibrant, refreshing acidity into a long, polished finish.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve at 15–17°C in wide Burgundy stems to allow its complex spice and floral aromatics to unfold.
  • Decanting: A 30-to-45 minute decant is recommended if opening in its youth. Best enjoyed from 2029 through 2040+.
  • Western Pairing: Roasted duck breast, pan-seared veal chops, wild mushroom risotto, or roasted game birds.
  • Asian Pairing: Peking duck, soy-sauce braised pork belly, or Cantonese roast goose.
