From Domaine du Gringet in France’s Savoie Ayze appellation, the Chez Edouard 2022 is a refined 100% Gringet sourced from a small 0.25-hectare parcel at 620 meters elevation—the domaine's oldest and highest site—on limestone scree soils with vines planted in 1915 as gobelet bush vines, capturing the region's alpine purity and slow ripening. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage undergo whole-bunch pressing, fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete eggs and sandstone jars, malolactic conversion, and maturation on lees without fining or filtration, bottled with no added SO2. Continuing the legacy of Dominique Belluard under winemaker Vincent Ruiz and partners, this organic production yields a slightly cloudy pale straw wine with vibrant intensity and graceful finesse.

Tasting Notes An elegant, precise white with lively citrus and herbal freshness, reflecting Savoie’s limestone scree terroir. The nose reveals pear, green apple, mandarin, and hints of serious herbal notes, floral aromatics, and delicate minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and bright, with vibrant acidity, fine texture, and flavors of blood orange, chalky stone, and subtle earth, leading to a long, complex finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C without decanting to preserve vibrancy. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, freshwater fish, or goat cheese. Enjoy now through 2032, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and herbal nuances.
