From Domaine du Gringet in France’s Savoie Ayze appellation, the Le Feu 2022 is a refined 100% Gringet sourced from a single south-facing hillside parcel in Marignier on iron-rich red marl soils at 450 meters elevation, with vines planted in the 1970s and 1980s that impart ripe concentration and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage undergo gentle whole-bunch pressing, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and 9 months' aging on fine lees in egg-shaped concrete tanks, followed by bottling without fining or filtration and 10 months' further aging in glass. Continuing Dominique Belluard's legacy under winemaker Vincent Ruiz and partners with organic practices, this production yields a pale straw wine with green highlights and majestic vibrancy.

Tasting Notes An elegant, profound white with ripe stone fruit and saline depth, reflecting Savoie’s red marl terroir. The nose reveals bold melon, pear, mandarin, and hints of liquorice and salt. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and textured, with vibrant acidity, creamy lees-derived depth, and flavors of quince, white flowers, and chalky minerality, leading to a long, salty finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 Le Feu earned 96 points from Jamie Goode for its lovely texture, mid-palate depth, and fresh, long finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C without decanting to preserve vibrancy. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, freshwater fish, or goat cheese. Enjoy now through 2035, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and herbal nuances.
