Crafted by the historic, family-owned Dr. Wehrheim estate, the 2024 Weisser Burgunder Buntstück is a pure, mineral-driven Pinot Blanc. Sustainably farmed from the Buntsandstein soils around Birkweiler in Pfalz, Germany, this VDP.Gutswein captures the estate’s signature balance of ripe fruit, crisp acidity, and precise mineral tension.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Brilliant light yellow.

  • Nose: Citrus, ripe apple, pear, melon, apricot, and white flowers, with a subtle creamy-nutty and chalky mineral edge.

  • Palate: Medium-bodied, fresh, and vibrant. Flavors of green apple, citrus, pear, peach, and quince are supported by lively acidity and a clean, mineral finish.

Serving & Cellaring

  • Temperature: Serve chilled at 8–10°C to preserve freshness and aromatic lift.

  • Cellaring: Enjoyable now for its crisp, generous fruit, but it should also develop nicely through about 2027 to 2029, gaining more subtle nutty, honeyed, and savory nuances.

Awards & Accolades

  • 92 Points – James Suckling: The 2024 vintage is listed with 92 points and described as brimming with citrus aromas, elegant, and beautifully balanced on the medium-bodied palate.
