Terroir & Winemaking Craft
- The "Aux Beaux Bruns" Premier Cru Terroir: Situated on gentle slopes bordering Morey-Saint-Denis, "Aux Beaux Bruns" takes its name from its iron-rich, brown limestone soils (*terres brunes*). This unique soil composition imparts a slightly fleshier, darker fruit profile and broader structural generosity than the lighter, chalkier sites of southern Chambolle.
- Precision Vinification by Domaine Faiveley: Hand-harvested and strictly sorted, the grapes undergo cold maceration before temperature-controlled fermentation. Aged for approximately 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels (around 30–40% new oak), preserving pure floral perfume while enhancing its supple, satiny mouthfeel.
Highlights
- 100% Pinot Noir harvested from the Premier Cru "Aux Beaux Bruns" vineyard in Chambolle-Musigny, Côte de Nuits.
- A radiant 2022 release packed with ripe black cherries, wild raspberries, crushed violets, dark cocoa, and forest floor.
- Crafted by Domaine Faiveley, offering 10 to 20+ years of graceful cellaring potential.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Deep, luminous ruby-crimson with brilliant violet reflections at the rim.
- Nose: Fragrant, expansive, and dark. It opens with aromas of ripe black cherries, wild raspberries, and red plum, accompanied by crushed violets, raw cocoa, subtle underbrush, and fine oak spice.
- Palate: Dry, medium-bodied, and satiny. The entry delivers a rich wave of dark red fruit sap that glides across a velvety mid-palate, held together by supple, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity into a long, mineral finish.
Serving Suggestion
- Temperature: Serve slightly cool at 14–16°C in large Burgundy glasses to allow its fragrant floral aromatics to uncoil fully.
- Decanting: A 45-to-60 minute decant is recommended if enjoying young. Best enjoyed 2026 through 2042+.
- Western Pairing: Roast duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-seared pork loin, rack of lamb, beef Bourguignon, or wild mushroom risotto.
- Asian Pairing: Peking duck, Char Siu (barbecue pork), Taiwanese braised pork belly, or Cantonese roast goose.
