Citrus Blossom, Crisp Pear, Vibrant Tension, and Pure Burgundy Energy

The 2024 Jane Eyre Bourgogne Blanc is a bright, crystalline Chardonnay crafted with understated elegance. Sourced from high-quality clay-limestone parcels across the Côte de Beaune, it reveals fragrant aromas of green orchard apple, white peach, lemon zest, and white flowers. Medium-bodied and tensile, it balances lively natural acidity with delicate lees texture, finishing crisp, clean, and refreshingly saline.

Highlights

  • 100% Chardonnay carefully selected from mature parcels situated primarily on the lower slopes of the Côte de Beaune.
  • Planted on classic Jurassic clay-limestone soils, yielding wines with clean orchard fruit aromatics, lively energy, and a chalky, mineral backbone.
  • Crafted by micro-négociant Jane Eyre using a low-intervention approach: gentle whole-cluster pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and no heavy lees stirring (bâtonnage).
  • Aged for approximately 10 to 12 months in neutral French oak barrels with very little new wood (<10%) to preserve pure varietal fruit and tensile structure.
  • From the classically fresh and tensile 2024 vintage, offering bright aromatic precision, mouth-watering acidity, and effortless early drinking through 2030+.

Tasting Notes

Bright, pale straw with silvery-green tints, it opens with pure, lifted aromas of crisp green apple, fresh Anjou pear, and lemon blossom, underlaid with crushed chalk, wet stone, and a faint hint of hazelnut. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, linear, and tensile, offering crunchy orchard fruit and citrus pith sustained by vibrant limestone acidity and a subtle textural grip, concluding on a clean, mouth-watering, and refreshingly saline finish.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve chilled at 10–12°C in standard white Burgundy stemware.
  • Decanting: Best served straight from the bottle or with 10 to 15 minutes in the glass to allow its citrus and floral perfume to expand; pairs effortlessly with oysters, pan-roasted trout with lemon butter, grilled shellfish, goat cheeses, or poultry in herb butter. Optimal drinking window now through 2030+.
