Bright Red Cherries, Floral Lift, Chalky Tannins, and Artisanal Finesse

Jane Eyre’s 2024 Pommard continues her mission of bringing Volnay-like grace to a traditionally muscular appellation. Born from a demanding, low-yielding vintage, this Pinot Noir delivers incredible concentration and aromatic purity. Bursting with bright red cherries, floral lift, and earthy spice, it is framed by chalky tannins and vibrant acidity. A masterful, transparent expression of terroir showcasing elegance over brute force.

Highlights

  • 100% Pinot Noir sourced from carefully selected village-level parcels in Pommard, Côte de Beaune.
  • Grown on iron-rich clay soils that traditionally produce robust wines, artfully handled by Jane Eyre to extract elegance, perfume, and finesse instead.
  • The challenging 2024 vintage demanded meticulous sorting, resulting in exceptionally low yields but delivering concentrated, vibrant fruit with bright natural acidity.
  • Winemaking employs gentle extraction and partial whole-cluster fermentation to add structural tension, aromatic lift, and a delicate herbal spice.
  • Élevage is traditionally conducted in older, neutral French oak barrels to preserve the delicate red fruit purity and terroir transparency without masking it with wood tannin.

Tasting Notes

Pours a brilliant, translucent ruby core. The nose is lifted and perfumed, offering pristine aromas of wild raspberries, crunchy red cherries, and dried rose petals, accented by a subtle earthy spice. On the palate, it is taut and energetic, balancing a concentrated core of vibrant red fruit with the appellation's signature firm, chalky tannins. Zesty, mouth-watering acidity drives a long, focused finish that remains wonderfully elegant and savory.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve at 60°F (15°C) in a wide-bowled Burgundy glass to allow the floral aromatics to fully shine.
  • Decanting: Aerate for 30–45 minutes in its youth to soften the inherent Pommard grip. Excellent paired with seared duck breast, wild mushroom risotto, or roasted pork loin. Enjoy from 2027 through 2037.
