Named for early mentor René Galland, this cuvée blends fruit from gravelly alluvial soils in lower-slope Les Crais and Les Murots within Gevrey-Chambertin, hand-harvested by the 14-ha domaine founded in 1980. Signature vinification features 3-5 weeks cold soak and extended maceration for tannin extraction, followed by 12-15 months in entirely new French oak barrels to build velvety texture and depth at 13% alcohol, reflecting the ripe yet fresh 2023 vintage.
