White Peach, Citrus Blossom, Creamy Texture, and Mineral Precision

Crafted by rising star Jérémy Arnaud, this expression of his high-altitude Les Veuillots parcel is aged entirely in an egg-shaped vessel. This unique "Ovoïde" élevage promotes continuous lees contact, imparting a luxurious, creamy texture to the pristine Chardonnay fruit without any oak influence. Brimming with white peach, citrus blossom, and crushed chalk, it masterfully bridges the gap between vibrant tension and textural depth.

Highlights

  • 100% Chardonnay sourced from Les Veuillots, a high-altitude, south-facing parcel situated in Tonnerre, just a short distance east of Chablis.
  • The vineyard's rocky clay-limestone soils impart a distinct crushed-stone minerality and striking natural tension to the wine.
  • Jérémy Arnaud remarkably bottles three distinct expressions of this single plot. The "Ovoïde" cuvée is aged in an egg-shaped vat, whose curved geometry encourages a continuous, natural convection of the fine lees.
  • Farmed organically and crafted with minimal intervention: hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented with native yeasts, and bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve absolute purity.
  • The generous 2023 vintage pairs perfectly with this vessel, providing beautifully ripe orchard fruit that is wrapped in a seamless, creamy mouthfeel, completely avoiding any wood influence.

Tasting Notes

Pours a brilliant, pale golden-yellow. The nose is highly aromatic and pure, offering an inviting bouquet of white peach, Meyer lemon, and citrus blossoms, layered over a core of crushed chalk and subtle raw almond. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and remarkably textural. The egg-shaped vessel imparts a creamy, seamless weight that beautifully envelopes a spine of racy, citrus-driven acidity, leading to a long, deeply saline, and complex finish.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve at 10–12°C (50–54°F) in standard white Burgundy glasses to enhance both the creamy texture and the mineral edge.
  • Decanting: No decanting necessary; open just prior to serving. Pairs beautifully with seared scallops, creamy goat cheese, or a rich crab risotto. Drink now through 2030.
