From La Chablisienne, a historic cooperative founded in 1923 in France's Chablis appellation, the Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2023 is a refined 100% Chardonnay sourced from the prestigious Fourchaume Premier Cru vineyard on north-facing Kimmeridgian limestone soils that impart exceptional minerality and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2023 vintage—marked by moderate temperatures and cool nights yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo cold static settling, fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and lees aging for 12-15 months to enhance texture while preserving purity. Certified with HVE3 and Terra Vitis for sustainable viticulture, this production yields a pale gold wine with silver highlights and vibrant precision.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mineral-driven white with vibrant citrus and flinty complexity, reflecting Chablis’s Kimmeridgian terroir. The nose unveils lemon zest, green apple, white flowers, and hints of flint and oyster shell. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and poised, with crystalline acidity, silky texture, and flavors of citrus pith, pear, and chalky minerality, leading to a long, saline finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume earned 93 points from Vinous for its vibrant minerality and elegant structure.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with oysters, scallops, or goat cheese. Enjoy now through 2035, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and honeyed nuances.
