From Château Malescot St. Exupéry in Bordeaux’s Margaux appellation, the La Dame de Malescot 2018 is a sophisticated second wine crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon with supporting Merlot, sourced from premium gravelly and clay-limestone vineyards that capture the appellation’s signature finesse. Hand-harvested grapes from the exceptional 2018 vintage—marked by warm, dry conditions yielding concentrated yet balanced fruit—undergo meticulous sorting, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and malolactic fermentation, followed by 12 months' aging in French oak barrels to integrate structure and elegance. This approach, rooted in sustainable practices, produces a deep ruby wine with vibrant intensity and harmonious depth.

Tasting Notes An elegant, structured red with ripe black fruit and refined tannins, reflecting Margaux's gravelly terroir. The nose presents black cherry, cassis, graphite, and hints of violet and toasted oak. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and poised, with firm yet polished tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of dark berries, licorice, and earthy minerality, culminating in a long, persistent finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2018 La Dame de Malescot earned 92 points from James Suckling for its polished fruit and structural poise.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 45-60 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas. Ideal with grilled beef, roasted game, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2033, evolving toward greater complexity with leather and truffle notes.
