100% Cabernet Sauvignon from hand-picked blocks vinified separately, racked to barrel for 6 months malolactic fermentation, then blended and matured 12 months in 50% new French oak. The challenging 2020 vintage yielded concentrated fruit and firm structure at 14.2% alcohol, reflecting Meerlust's coastal terroir and meticulous estate practices.
Tasting Notes
Very deep garnet hue with dark/red fruit, slight mint, oyster shell, and kelp aromas. Full-bodied palate packs ripe blueberries, elegant tannins, dark chocolate, and salted liquorice persistence.
Serving and Cellaring
Serve at 16-18°C after 90 minutes decanting; drink 2025-2035+. Pairs with roast meat and game.
