Michel Bouzereau et Fils Meursault 1er Cru Perrières 2022 is a powerful yet crystalline white Burgundy showing citrus, ripe apple and nectarine with linden flower, hazelnut and smoky mineral notes. The palate combines substantial weight and intense tactile minerality with crisp acidity and a long, lush, stony finish.

From the domaine’s prime holdings in Meursault-Perrières, the 2022 was aged 16–18 months in French oak barrels (about 30% new), building a creamy, biscuity texture around a core of concentrated orchard and citrus fruit. Critics highlight extraordinary balance between substance and finesse, with the site’s trademark iodine, oyster-shell and stone-driven character giving precision and ageing potential.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Lemon peel, ripe apple, nectarine, linden blossom, hazelnut and a touch of smoke; strong stone/iodine and oyster-shell mineral focus.

  • Palate: Ripe citrus and orchard fruit with plenty of flesh, caramel and biscotti/vanilla oak notes, lactic-buttery nuance and intense tactile minerality.

  • Finish: Long, lush, balanced by crisp acidity and a pronounced stony, saline drive.

Awards and Accolades – Highlights

  • Jasper Morris: 93/100 – notes mid‑lemon colour, immediate power on the nose, ripe orchard fruit, evident vanilla/biscuit oak and predicts it will come back into perfect balance with age (drink 2029–2038).

  • Falstaff: emphasizes “stunning” stone-focused aroma (iodine, oyster shell) and “extraordinary balance” with intense tactile minerality on the palate.

Serving and Cellaring
Serve at 12–14°C with poultry in cream sauce, rich fish or mushrooms; best from around 2029, with a drinking window into the late 2030s.
