Mongeard-Mugneret Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Cras" 2019

Mongeard-Mugneret Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Cras" 2019

From the esteemed Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret in Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, the Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Cras" 2019 is a refined Pinot Noir from a 1.2-hectare plot near Clos de Vougeot. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, sourced from 40-year-old vines on clay-limestone soils, it’s hand-harvested and fermented with 30% whole clusters. Aged 16–18 months in French oak (40% new), it offers a ruby hue and vibrant complexity.

Winemaking Process

Mongeard-Mugneret’s biodynamic approach defines this wine. The 2019 vintage undergoes gentle fermentation in stainless steel and oak vats, with minimal intervention to preserve fruit purity. Aging for 16–18 months in 40% new French oak barrels adds structure while maintaining elegance, creating a balanced Premier Cru with silky tannins and excellent aging potential.
