Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut Champagne NV

Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut Champagne NV

From the iconic Bollinger estate in Aÿ, Champagne, the Special Cuvée Brut NV is a vibrant, elegant non-vintage Champagne embodying the house’s Pinot Noir-driven style. Crafted from 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier, sourced from over 85% Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, it includes 50% reserve wines aged in magnums for 5–15 years. Fermented partly in oak barrels and aged on lees for three years, it boasts a golden hue and refined complexity.

Winemaking Process

Bollinger’s dedication to quality shines in this wine. The NV blend, with a base often from the 2019 vintage, uses hand-picked grapes and 15% barrel fermentation in old oak, adding depth. Reserve wines, stored in magnums under cork, contribute consistency and richness. Extended lees aging for 36 months, twice the appellation’s minimum, enhances its creamy texture and toasty character.

The nose reveals ripe apple, peach, and brioche, with hints of spice, almond, and roasted nuts. On the palate, it’s full-bodied yet lively, with a fine mousse, creamy texture, and flavors of pear, citrus, and a chalky, mineral finish.
