The Goldtrepfchen is a south-facing, 60-hectare steep slope made of clayey gray slate that rises directly above the small town of Piesport. Even in hot and dry years, this slope has an adequate water supply thanks to the forests above. Yields in this top location are extremely reduced in order to achieve a maximum of aromas and the greatest possible density in the wine so that it can mature in the bottle for many years.

Extremely dense, mineral but fragrant nose of slate, cassis, red berries and tropical fruits. On the palate there are aromas of ripe fruits and berries of all kinds, the natural sweetness is wonderfully supported by the acidity and refreshing minerality. Great length and complexity. A pleasure as a sweet wine when young, the selection gains in complexity and expression with increasing age; the recommended drinking age is over 10, preferably 15 years.
