San Leonardo Carménère 2019
From Tenuta San Leonardo in Trentino, the Carménère 2019 is a refined wine from the estate’s oldest vineyards on clay-limestone soils near the Dolomites. Hand-harvested from organic vineyards, it’s fermented in small concrete vats and aged 24 months in French oak barrels, offering a deep ruby hue with vibrant complexity.

A complex, elegant red with rich fruit and spicy finesse, showcasing Trentino’s terroir.
The nose reveals currants, dried roses, and sage, with hints of stone dust and earthy strawberries. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and silky, with brisk acidity, fine-grained tannins, and flavors of red and black fruits, pepper, and a long, mineral finish.

The 2019 Carménère earned 95 points from Vinous for its profound, silky complexity and 95 points from James Suckling for its intense, aromatic depth in the 2019 vintage.
