Sourced from Tenuta San Guido's 75-hectare Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC vineyards (planted 1940s-1970s) on gravelly, limestone-clay soils at 100m near the Tyrrhenian Sea, benefiting from maritime breezes. Typically 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc; 2022 underwent destemming, cold maceration, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, malolactic, and 24 months aging in French oak barriques (33% new) plus bottle aging before release at 14% alcohol.

Tasting Notes
Opaque ruby-purple; aromas of blackberry, plum, red currant, cedar, graphite, sandalwood, iron, terra cotta, thyme, rosemary, and blue flowers. Medium-to-full bodied palate reveals dark cherry, raspberry coulis, licorice, spice, velvety/chewy tannins, piercing acidity, stony minerality, and long savory persistence with balsamic freshness.
