From Domaine Alphonse Mellot in France's Sancerre appellation, the La Moussière 2023 is a refined 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from a 34-hectare south-facing vineyard on Kimmeridgian limestone marl soils, embodying 19 generations of family expertise. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2023 vintage undergo whole-cluster pneumatic pressing, with must clarification at low temperatures, followed by fermentation half in stainless steel tanks and half in new French oak barrels, then aged on fine lees for 7-8 months to integrate complexity and vibrancy. Certified organic and biodynamic since 2009, this production emphasizes terroir purity, yielding a pale straw wine with green highlights and exceptional finesse.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mineral-driven white with vibrant citrus and flinty precision, reflecting Sancerre's limestone terroir. The nose unveils citrus blossom, grapefruit zest, and crushed flint, with hints of white flowers and ripe pear. On the palate, it is light- to medium-bodied and poised, with bright acidity, fine texture, and flavors of lemon pith, green apple, and chalky minerality, leading to a long, saline finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve chilled at 8-10°C without decanting to preserve freshness. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, goat cheese, or herb-infused salads. Enjoy now through 2030, during which it will develop subtle honeyed and herbal nuances.
