From Champagne Drappier in the Aube subregion of Champagne, the Grande Sendrée Millésime Brut 2012 is a refined blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay sourced from the estate's historic Grande Sendrée vineyard, a 2.5-hectare parcel on limestone-rich soils that survived phylloxera and fire, imparting exceptional structure and elegance. Hand-harvested grapes from the outstanding 2012 vintage—marked by cool conditions yielding concentrated yet vibrant fruit—undergo gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle with extended lees aging of at least 72 months to develop profound complexity. As Drappier’s flagship vintage cuvée, this production yields a pale gold sparkling wine with persistent fine mousse and majestic purity.

Tasting Notes An elegant, complex vintage sparkling with ripe citrus and toasty depth, reflecting Champagne's limestone terroir. The nose reveals lemon curd, brioche, toasted hazelnut, and hints of white flowers and chalk. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and creamy, with vibrant acidity, fine bubbles, and flavors of citrus pith, pear, and subtle pastry, leading to a long, mineral-laced finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2012 Grande Sendrée Millésime Brut earned 94 points from James Suckling for its creamy texture and focused elegance.

Serving and Cellaring Serve chilled at 8-10°C without decanting to preserve effervescence. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with lobster, truffle risotto, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2040, during which it will develop profound nutty and truffle-like nuances.
