From Champagne Drappier in the Aube subregion of Champagne, the Réserve de l’Oenothèque Brut 2004 is a refined blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay sourced from the estate’s oldest vines on limestone-rich soils, disgorged after extended lees aging of over 15 years. Hand-harvested grapes from the exceptional 2004 vintage—cool and slow-ripening, yielding concentrated fruit with bright acidity—undergo gentle pressing, fermentation in stainless steel, and secondary fermentation in bottle with zero dosage. This library release from Drappier’s oenothèque yields a deep gold sparkling wine with persistent fine mousse and profound complexity.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mature vintage sparkling with toasted brioche and dried fruit depth, reflecting Champagne's limestone terroir. The nose reveals toasted hazelnut, dried apricot, honey, and hints of truffle and candied citrus. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet vibrant, with silky mousse, integrated acidity, and flavors of brioche, roasted almond, and preserved lemon, leading to a long, savory finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2004 Réserve de l’Oenothèque Brut earned 95 points from James Suckling for its creamy richness and persistent elegance.

Serving and Cellaring Serve chilled at 8-10°C without decanting to preserve effervescence. Ideal with truffle risotto, aged Comté, or foie gras. Enjoy now through 2040, at peak maturity with tertiary complexity.
