From Clos du Mont-Olivet, a historic family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1932, the Côtes du Rhône Vieilles Vignes Rouge 2021 is a refined blend of primarily Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault sourced from 50- to 80-year-old vines on the estate's holdings in Orange and Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, across sandy, clay, and limestone soils that capture the appellation’s warmth and vitality. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2021 vintage—marked by cool nights preserving acidity amid sunny days—undergo partial whole-cluster fermentation in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, followed by 12-18 months' aging in large foudres and neutral oak to enhance structure without masking terroir. Committed to organic practices, this production yields a deep ruby wine with purple edges and poised vibrancy.

Tasting Notes An elegant, vibrant red with ripe berries and garrigue freshness, reflecting Côtes du Rhône’s diverse terroir. The nose displays ripe cherry, raspberry, thyme, and hints of lavender and pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of red fruits, herbs, and subtle spice, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2021 Côtes du Rhône Vieilles Vignes Rouge earned 90 points from Wine Advocate for its classic freshness and structured elegance.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30-45 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with grilled poultry, Provençal stews, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2032, developing greater earthy and garrigue complexities over time.
