From Clos du Mont-Olivet, a historic family estate since 1932 in the Rhone Valley, the IGP du Gard Rive Droite 2022 is a refined blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Merlot sourced from vines planted in 2016 on the right bank of the Rhone in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, featuring sandy-clay soils with red silica and scattered pebbles that impart depth and freshness. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage—characterized by moderate conditions yielding concentrated yet light-hearted fruit—undergo natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, followed by aging in neutral oak to preserve purity and vibrancy. As a family-run, organic-leaning producer, this yields a deep ruby wine with purple edges and approachable elegance.

Tasting Notes An elegant, vibrant red with ripe berries and garrigue freshness, reflecting Gard’s sandy terroir. The nose displays black fruits, soft spices, and thyme, with hints of pepper and herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of juicy red and black fruits, garrigue, and subtle earth, leading to a fresh, light finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 IGP du Gard Rive Droite earned 90 points from Wine Advocate for its classic freshness and structured elegance.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30-45 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with grilled poultry, Provençal stews, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2032, developing greater earthy and garrigue complexities over time.
