The 2021 vintage shows dark ruby-purple color and is sourced from high-elevation estate fruit on DAOU Mountain. The wine spent 22 months in 100% new French oak, which adds vanilla, toast, spice, and structure to the ripe black-fruit core.
Tasting Notes
Aromas and flavors include black cherry, blackberry, blueberry jam, blackcurrant, baking spice, sage, graphite, mocha, tobacco, vanilla, toasted oak, black olive, and dried herbs. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with round, vibrant tannins and a long finish.
