Terroir, History & Acclaim
- 93 Points - James Suckling: Aromas rich in savory, woodsy and spicy notes lead to vibrant black cherries, grilled plums, mushrooms, star anise and a touch of black pepper. Distinctive for a broad Willamette Valley bottling, this is lively and medium-bodied. Drink now or hold.
- 93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 2022 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is bursting with aromas of pomegranate, lavender, forest floor and herbal hints. The palate is open and inviting, offering concentrated, spicy flavors. It’s structured by silky tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, nuanced finish. 14,900 cases produced.
- Willamette Valley Terroir Synthesis: Combines fruit from Résonance’s estate vineyards—Résonance Vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton (marine sedimentary Willakenzie soils) and Découverte Vineyard in the Dundee Hills (volcanic Jory clay)—alongside select top-tier family-farmed parcels across the Willamette Valley. The collision of volcanic basalt and ancient marine sandstone provides a complete regional expression, layering bright red fruit perfume over savory, earthy depth.
- Maison Louis Jadot's Oregon Project: Established in 2013, Résonance is the first estate project outside of Burgundy for the historic Maison Louis Jadot. Guided by legendary former Jadot technical director Jacques Lardière and winemaker Guillaume Large, vinification applies uncompromised Burgundian discipline: hand-harvesting, indigenous yeast fermentation, gentle pigeage, and 12 months aging in French oak barrels (Cadus cooperage) with restrained new wood to ensure pristine varietal clarity.
Highlights
- 100% Pinot Noir from estate and partner vineyards across prime Willamette Valley terroirs.
- Crafted under the direction of Maison Louis Jadot’s Burgundian winemaking team.
- From the balanced, classical 2022 Oregon vintage; drinking beautifully now through 2034+.
Tasting Notes
Bright, translucent ruby in color, it opens with pure, fragrant aromas of red cherries, wild marionberries, and cranberries, interwoven with dried rose petals, damp forest loam, subtle clove, and sandalwood. The palate is medium-bodied, silky, and energetic, carrying crisp red berry fruit over fine-grained, powdery tannins and a core of refreshing natural acidity, culminating in a clean, persistent, and subtly spiced mineral finish.
Serving Suggestion
- Temperature: Serve at 15–17°C in wide Burgundy stemware.
- Decanting: A short 20-to-30 minute aeration in the glass allows its floral aromatics and red fruit definition to fully unfold. Best enjoyed now through 2034+.
