Domaine Belargus Anjou Les Quarts 2018

From the innovative Domaine Belargus in Anjou, Loire Valley, the Les Quarts 2018 is a dry Chenin Blanc from a 3.08-hectare plot in the Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru. Sourced from biodynamically farmed vines on south-facing schist soils, it’s hand-harvested and fermented in oak barrels. Aged 26 months on lees in barrels and demi-muids, it offers a pale gold hue and profound complexity.

Winemaking Process

Under Ivan Massonnat and Jo Pithon’s guidance, this wine reflects biodynamic precision. The 2018 vintage undergoes fermentation in French oak barrels with native yeasts, followed by partial malolactic fermentation. Extended lees aging for 26 months in barrels and demi-muids adds texture while preserving minerality, creating a full-bodied, dry Chenin with vibrant acidity and aging potential.
