From Domaine du Bouchot in France's Pouilly-Fumé appellation, the Vin Orange 2021 is a refined 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from 45-year-old biodynamically farmed vines on a small plot of Portland limestone soils that impart minerality and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2021 vintage undergo six months of skin maceration in used barrels without SO2, followed by gentle pressing and six months' further maturation in the same vessels with minimal intervention to enhance phenolic grip and aromatic depth. Certified organic and biodynamic since 2009 under winemaker Antoine Gouffier, this skin-contact cuvée yields a golden wine with orange tinges and remarkable balance.

Tasting Notes An elegant, textured orange wine with herbal bitterness and floral vibrancy, reflecting Pouilly-Fumé's Portland limestone terroir. The nose reveals fennel, dill, pomelo, and hints of elderflower and white pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and firm, with phenolic structure, balanced acidity, and flavors of bitter orange peel, licorice, and subtle spice, leading to a pure, lingering finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2021 Vin Orange earned 92 points from Vinous for its fresh firmness, phenolic grip, and elderflower character.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with spicy Asian cuisine, aged cheeses, or seafood. Enjoy now through 2032, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and herbal nuances.
