From Domaine Henri Bourgeois, a family estate with ten generations of winemaking in France’s Sancerre appellation, the La Bourgeoise Blanc 2022 is a refined 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from old vines (over 40 years) on south-facing flint and limestone soils in the Chavignol village, imparting intense minerality and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage—marked by warm days and cool nights yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo gentle pressing, fermentation in a mix of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, and lees aging for 8-10 months to enhance texture and complexity. Committed to sustainable viticulture with organic practices, this production yields a pale straw wine with green highlights and remarkable precision.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mineral-driven white with vibrant citrus and flinty complexity, reflecting Sancerre’s limestone terroir. The nose unveils grapefruit zest, green apple, white flowers, and hints of flint and wet stone. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and poised, with crisp acidity, silky texture, and flavors of citrus pith, pear, and chalky minerality, leading to a long, saline finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 La Bourgeoise Blanc earned 92 points from Vinous for its vibrant minerality and elegant structure.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, goat cheese, or herb-roasted poultry. Enjoy now through 2032, developing subtle honeyed and herbal nuances over time.
