From Domaine Henri Bourgeois, a family estate spanning ten generations in France’s Pouilly-Fumé appellation, the En Travertin 2023 is a refined 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from old vines on clay-limestone slopes in Saint-Andelain, where calcareous travertin soils impart structure and minerality. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2023 vintage—marked by moderate temperatures yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo gentle pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and 5 months' lees aging to enhance texture and complexity. Committed to sustainable viticulture with organic practices, this production yields a pale straw wine with green highlights and remarkable finesse.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mineral-driven white with vibrant citrus and subtle smoky depth, reflecting Pouilly-Fumé’s calcareous terroir. The nose reveals ripe pineapple, mango, mirabelle plum, and hints of cinnamon and citrus zest. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and poised, with bright acidity, fine texture, and flavors of ananas, agrumes, and persistent minerality, leading to a long, fruit-forward finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2023 En Travertin earned 92 points from James Suckling for its lively fruit and elegant structure, and 1 star from Guide Hachette des Vins for its successful terroir expression.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, goat cheese, or herb-roasted poultry. Enjoy now through 2033, during which it will develop enhanced honeyed and herbal nuances.
