From Champagne Henriot in France's Champagne region, the Blanc Souverain Blanc de Blancs NV is a refined 100% Chardonnay sourced from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards primarily in the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Avize) with contributions from Trépail, Montgueux, Vitry, and Epernay, on chalky soils that impart finesse and structure. The multi-vintage blend incorporates 30% reserve wines, including from a perpetual reserve, with the base from a recent harvest; hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle pressing and primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle via the traditional method and extended lees aging of at least 4 years before disgorgement to develop complexity and creaminess. With a dosage of 6-8 g/L, this production emphasizes purity and the Henriot house style of richness and elegance, yielding a pale gold sparkling wine with persistent fine mousse and remarkable vibrancy.

Tasting Notes A harmonious Blanc de Blancs with seamless integration of mouthwatering acidity, ruby red grapefruit, blood orange, and a minerally chalky streak, offering fine satiny texture and a lasting finish with hints of ground ginger and blanched almond. The nose exudes lemon, peach, spring flowers, and toasted bread, with subtle pastry and spice notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and vinous, with lively acidity, elegant mousse, and flavors of citrus oil, orchard fruit, and light reduction, leading to a fresh, mineral-driven finish.

Awards and Accolades The NV Blanc Souverain Blanc de Blancs earned 93 points from Wine Spectator for its elegant refreshment and harmonious lacy mousse with apricot, lime peel, and quince notes, well-honed by chiseled acidity.

Serving and Cellaring Serve chilled at 8-10°C without decanting to preserve effervescence. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, poultry, or soft cheeses. Enjoy now through 2035, during which it will develop enhanced autolytic and nutty nuances.
