From Château La Nerthe, one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's oldest estates dating to 1560, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2021 is a refined blend of 39% Grenache, 33% Mourvèdre, 25% Syrah, and 3% Cinsault sourced from 92 hectares across diverse soils including sandy-clay, galets, and limestone that capture the appellation's full complexity. Hand-harvested grapes from the challenging yet classic 2021 vintage—marked by frost risks avoided by Mistral winds and balanced ripening—undergo sorting, fermentation in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, and 18 months' aging in foudres and French oak to enhance elegance and purity. Certified organic since 1998, this production yields a bright garnet wine with purple hints and poised intensity.

Tasting Notes An elegant, harmonious red with ripe cherries and herbal vibrancy, reflecting Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s diverse terroir. The nose displays ripe cherries, strawberries, and subtle garrigue with lavender and peppery undertones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, with supple tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of red fruits, mint, and spice, leading to a long, balanced finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge earned 93 points from James Suckling for its elegant length and vibrant harmony.
