From Château La Nerthe, one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s oldest estates dating to 1560, the Cuvée des Cadettes 2018 is a refined blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah sourced from a unique 20-acre vineyard with 85- to 100-year-old vines on sandy-clay soils that impart elegance and intensity. Hand-harvested grapes from the warm, balanced 2018 vintage—characterized by sunny conditions yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo whole-cluster fermentation in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, followed by 12 months' aging in foudres to enhance purity and finesse. Certified organic since 1998, this production yields a deep garnet wine with purple hints and remarkable structure.

Tasting Notes An elegant, structured red with ripe black fruits and spicy depth, reflecting Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s sandy terroir. The nose displays cassis, black raspberry, violets, and hints of graphite, spice box, and pepper. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and balanced, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of juicy plum, sandalwood, and cherry blossom, leading to a long, spicy finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2018 Cuvée des Cadettes earned 93 points from JebDunnuck.com for its charming elegance, notable concentration, and beautiful balance.
