On the palate, it's medium-bodied, with a frothy but fine mousse, ripe acids and a delicate core of fruit, concluding with a bright and chalky finish.

For five generations (nearly two centuries), the house that shelters the Champagne J.L. Vergnon has been owned by a single family. In 1950, it was passed to the son, Jean-Louis Vergnon, who recreated his vineyards on the slopes of Cote de Blancs in Mesnil/Oger. Classified Grand Cru, it is renowned for the excellence of its soil and is exclusively growing Chardonnay. Here, East-facing vineyards grow above chalky subsoil. The blending of several plots from his different Crus, with different exposure.
