From Domaine Roger Sabon, a family estate founded in 1952 in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Cuvée Prestige 2023 is a refined blend dominated by Grenache (70%) with Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre, sourced from old vines (up to 100 years) across 14 plots on sandy-limestone and stony galet soils that impart concentration and freshness. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2023 vintage—marked by moderate conditions yielding ripe yet vibrant fruit—undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats, followed by 18 months' aging in a mix of large foudres and French oak demi-muids to enhance integration and complexity. This flagship cuvée emphasizes terroir purity and sustainable practices, yielding a deep ruby wine with garnet edges and harmonious depth.

Tasting Notes An elegant, structured red with ripe red fruit and savory spice, reflecting Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s stony terroir. The nose reveals raspberry, black cherry, garrigue herbs, and hints of licorice and graphite. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet poised, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of plum, pepper, and mineral earthiness, leading to a long, persistent finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2023 Cuvée Prestige earned 94 points from JebDunnuck.com for its layered fruit and elegant structure.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 60 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with roasted lamb, game, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2040, developing greater leather and truffle nuances over time.
