From Clau de Nell in France's Anjou subregion, the Chenin Blanc 2022 is a refined 100% Chenin Blanc sourced from select parcels on tuffeau limestone and silty-clay soils that impart energy and minerality. Hand-harvested grapes from the sunny, early 2022 vintage—characterized by historic precocity with harvests beginning September 12th, yielding concentrated yet vibrant fruit—undergo whole-cluster pneumatic pressing, cold settling, and fermentation with native yeasts in used Burgundy oak barrels, followed by lees aging to enhance texture and balance. As a biodynamic, Demeter-certified family estate revitalized by Anne-Claude Leflaive and Christian Jacques since 2008, this production yields a golden wine with silver reflections and remarkable harmony.

Tasting Notes An elegant, textured white with vibrant stone fruit and herbal freshness, reflecting Anjou's tuffeau limestone terroir. The nose reveals peaches, verbena, warm herbs, and dried spices, with hints of ripe white fruits and subtle woodiness. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and vibrant, with fresh acidity, creamy texture, and flavors of juicy plum, nectarines, and a salty finish, leading to a long, energetic close.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 Chenin Blanc earned 94 points from James Suckling for its delicious balance, vibrant precision, and seductive volume.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to highlight aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, poultry, or soft cheeses. Enjoy now through 2035, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and honeyed nuances.
