From Dog Point Vineyard in New Zealand’s Marlborough region, the Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc 2020 is a refined 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from a single 0.94-hectare parcel of 30-year-old vines in the estate's home vineyard on silty-clay loam soils that impart exceptional concentration and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2020 vintage—characterized by even ripening yielding intense yet elegant fruit—undergo whole-bunch pressing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in a mix of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels (30% new), followed by 12 months' lees aging to enhance texture and complexity. As New Zealand's largest certified organic vineyard and a family-owned estate since 2002, this limited-production wine (1,500 cases) yields a pale straw wine with green highlights and profound vibrancy.

Tasting Notes An elegant, complex white with layered citrus and mineral depth, reflecting Marlborough's clay-loam terroir. The nose reveals crushed stones, smoked almonds, green apples, lemon pith, white pepper, licorice, and oyster shells. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and tightly wound, with phenolic tension, sharp acidity, and flavors of vibrant citrus, saline minerality, and subtle spice, leading to a long, intense finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2020 Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc earned 95 points from James Suckling for its powerful concentration and vibrant energy, and 94+ points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate for its impressive structure and aging potential.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with grilled seafood, goat cheese, or herb-infused salads. Enjoy now through 2040, during which it will develop enhanced honeyed and petrol nuances.
