Terroir & Winemaking
- The Historic Zampatti Vineyard: Tucked away on a steep, 2.5-acre parcel on the lower slopes of Sonoma Mountain, this jewel-box vineyard was planted in 1915 by Italian immigrant Al Zampatti. The combination of cool ocean breezes, dry-farmed old vines, and iron-rich volcanic soils produces a distinctive Zinfandel famous for its high-toned aromatics and exceptional structural elegance.
- Artisanal Turley Preservation: Farmed organically and vinified by Turley Wine Cellars using wild yeasts and minimal intervention. Aging in low-impact neutral wood preserves the delicate red berry purity, floral lift, and refreshing acidity that make Zampatti one of the most distinctive single-vineyard bottlings in the Turley portfolio.

Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Luminous ruby-red core with brilliant crimson highlights at the rim.
- Nose: Perfumed, lifted, and aromatic. It opens with bright notes of wild red raspberries, tart cranberries, and red cherries, layered with blood orange peel, dried rose petals, white pepper, and subtle forest floor.
- Palate: Dry, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully silky. The entry brings a vibrant wave of crunchy red fruit sap that glides across fine-grained, supple tannins, supported by fresh acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Serving Suggestion
- Temperature: Serve slightly cool at 14–16°C to highlight its bright floral aromatics and red fruit freshness.
- Decanting: A short 20-to-30 minute decant helps open its fragrant perfume. Best enjoyed over the next 8 to 12 years.
- Western Pairing: Roast duck breast, pan-seared pork chops with cherry sauce, grilled rack of lamb, or wild mushroom risotto.
- Asian Pairing: Peking duck, Cantonese roast duck, Char Siu (barbecue pork), or Taiwanese braised pork.
