Produced by the Rose family’s Wairau River Wines, this Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from estate vineyards across Marlborough on stony, free‑draining river‑bed and alluvial soils that enhance concentration and aromatic lift. Grapes are machine‑ or hand‑harvested in the cool early hours, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures to preserve varietal purity; the blended wine then rests briefly on light lees before bottling at the estate, yielding a dry style around 12.5–13% alcohol with 2–3 g/L residual sugar and crisp acidity.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw in color, it shows intense aromas of ripe tropical fruits such as passionfruit and guava, alongside grapefruit, lemon, and subtle herbal notes. The palate is refined and elegant with a finely textured mouthfeel, flavors of guava and stone fruit, zesty citrus, bright mineral acidity, and a fresh, dry, mouthwatering finish.
Serving and Cellaring
Serve well‑chilled at 8–10°C in a medium white wine glass; no decanting is necessary. Enjoy over the next 2–3 years for peak vibrancy, pairing with shellfish, white fish, salads, light goat cheeses, and citrus‑accented poultry dishes.
