Collection: Dom Joblot
Domaine Joblot, a cornerstone of Givry in Burgundy's Cote Chalonnaise, was founded by Charles Joblot post-World War II. Instrumental in establishing the Givry AOC in 1946, Charles shifted from fruit production to viticulture. His son Marc began bottling wines under the family name in the late 1960s. Jean-Marc Joblot, an oenologist, took over in 1979, modernizing the estate with his brother Vincent, who managed vineyards. Since 2012, Jean-Marc's daughter Juliette has led the 14-hectare estate, with Hélène Sarkis as director and oenologist since 2022, continuing the family's legacy of excellence.
Viticulture Philosophy
Spanning 14 hectares, with 9 in Premier Crus, Joblot cultivates Pinot Noir (11 hectares) and Chardonnay (3 hectares) in Givry's calcareous-clay soils. Practicing near-organic viticulture (not certified), the estate employs high-density planting (11,000 vines/ha), low yields, and manual canopy management to optimize sunlight and air circulation. Harvest timing prioritizes acidity balance over sugar content, ensuring fresh, vibrant fruit. Juliette and Hélène emphasize sustainability, preserving old vines and biodiversity in sites like Servoisine, Clos Marole, and Cellier aux Moines.
Winemaking Techniques
Joblot's wines reflect meticulous craftsmanship. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts. Reds, like L’Empreinte and Servoisine, undergo 35-50% new oak aging (depending on vintage) for 12-18 months, balancing fruit purity with structure. Whites, such as Mademoiselle and En Veau, see restrained oak to preserve minerality and freshness. Vinification respects each parcel's terroir, with Juliette's modern touch reducing new oak for elegance and Hélène continuing this philosophy.

The Guide RVF des Meilleurs Vins de France 2024 awards 1★/4, noting the reds’ “purity, depth, and freshness” and excellent aging potential. Bettane + Desseauve rates it 4★/5 for “very high quality.” Sarah Marsh MW lauds the 2022 Clos Marole for its “precise terroir expression” and fine tannins.
